Not that many people have said that over the last three years. If, all of a sudden, they're bombarded with images of the PS3 slim, they still won't want it. People need to be given REASONS to buy it, not just fancy advertising.

Quality game library, pretty good FREE online service, simple and easy to use interface (XMB), Media streaming, fits virtually anywhere near a television, $299...

 

That's sold for me.

Microsoft and Nintendo sucks! PS3 must win 1st place in the console war!



Noticed that on the Madden 10 commercial on Sunday Night Football that at the end they showed the Xbox 360 Elite and not the PS3 and added the following "now $100 off" not now $299.



Its libraries that sell systems not a single game.

I went to gamestop about a week ago, and all over the store they had PS3 slim posters and the "It only does everything" slogan, and the $299 price, everyone was buying one, it felt like sony finally got it right with there advertisements, and people were finally looking at the ps3 thanks to the lower price and what not.. but, the elite just had a price cut, today i go to gamestop, and guess what I see? Posters all over the store, not one poster advertising the $299 PS3 slim, but posters saying "the best nexgen experience is now only $299, XBOX 360 ELITE" and it showed a black 360 with a white/green background. Microsoft imo has stolen sony's thunder "ADVERTISEMENT" wise already on retail outlets, and I also went to best buy, and saw 360 ads everywhere, not any PS3 slim ads, but did see the ps3 slim itself.

I see microsoft taking over the TV with advertisements as well.. eclispsing sony's advertising campaign, I just wonder why they didnt do this last generation?


What suprised me is I got a Best Buy Ad this past Sunday and there was no PS3 Slim or PS3 price Cut ad in the paper, but the XBox 360 had a nice 2 page spread with the price cut. What the hell happened? Sony announced their price cuts first, so why weren't there any ads in Best Buy?

Microsoft has fought hard this generation to get where they are. Whether they have the best/most powerful console or not doesn't really matter. They made the consumer think it was and that's where they have succeeded. They got their assess handed to them last generation and really regrouped took straight aim at the biggest console leader and shot straight for them. Sony is just now starting to recover from a combination of Microsoft playing its cards right and Sony playing their cards wrong. 2010 is where the battle will really start to begin and get nasty. Not only are we more than likely going to see the release of motion controls for both consoles but the game lineup/backup for both of them is overwhelming. This generation is just starting to heat up.
