I would probably say Guitar Hero/Rock Band are the most milked with Final Fantasy trailing closely behind.

Yes, I know, I know, each FF game is technically different but since the new ones are just playing off fanboys strange love for Cloud and Sephiroth, they're really just the same thing.

When read Milking i just remembered Harvest Moon! considering its somehow a low profile franchise, they release almost 2 games every year, and they used to release male and female versions and know they have Rune Factory to make it better =D (i love Harvest Moon) im going to look for a list...

Mario was in 1995 SNES/Super Famicon Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy´s Kong Quest (Super Donkey Kong 2) as a Video Game Hero by the end of the game (Link was also in there)

The only Mario franchise that ever got a good milking was Mario Party. 9 stinking mario parties! But even there we've had a reprieve, as the Wii has broken the trend of constant Mparties suggesting that Nintendo isn't as interested in milking as some people think.

Yes I know, and I agree with you.  That's why I kept saying other franchises have been milked more because they blatiantly look to just copy old ideas to produce new games or produce sequels for money.  And I even named them (Madden, Rock Band, Final Fantasy, etc).

Guitar hero is the biggest offender IMO. It's almost like everytime I check release dates, there's another one coming out.

You are right because other then Sonic 1 and Sonic 2 there hasn't been a great once since.  Sonic 3 and the one on the Dreamcast (Sonic Adventure) were the only ones of any quality since. The other 15 or so have really sucked and I mean sucked beyond even being playable.
