So I got the game today and was just wondering.

I have gotten to the vault in the overseers office.

But to get there I killed the overseer.

I have read that all your actions determine how your game will evolve.

So I was wondering should I have killed him or had I other choices,

To me it seemed like the only option.

I want to get into this game as I have only heard good about it.

My main type of game is shooters so if I am missing something I would love to rectify it early in the game.

I have not really played RPG games before so it is new to me.

If this is going to spoil game for anyone please lock.

i killed him my first playthrough. the 2nd time i found a way to not kill him. but no it wont change the game

It does effect one of the side quests later on in the game, but it doesn't really matter much.

I had a feeling you could avoid that.

pick up the bobble head before you leave vault 101

Normally you would have another quest later in the game that you can't do now anymore. I never killed him so far found it way to sad to kill the dad of that girl. Be sure to pick up the bobblehead (father's room).

Just changes an optional quest later on. Although you might miss out on the bobblehead for good if you kill him.

You can still do the quest, it's just a little different (read: possibly more violent).

 Don't forget to tell him that Rosebud is a sled!
