Forums - Gaming - Call of Juarez Sales

I think AJ was being sarcastic.

People in the Americas are often more review conscious. The online shooter community is huge, but they often won't flock to a game with reviews like the ones that Call of Juarez got (and even with the sequel's improvements, most people who bought the previous game feel burned). As such, this game sells better in PAL, Sony's strong territory. And since the 360 online community is bigger, Sony has another advantage in PAL, allowing the game to sell better on the PS3.

Hopefully I summed that up well.

Yep, cheers

The PS3 version is doing slightly worse in the America's but doing noticeably better in others like most games do compared to 360...

most games do better on the ps3 in others compared to 360 yes. But the ps3 version is only doing SLIGHTLY worse in america, where the ps3 is outnumbered almost 2 to 1 to xboxes and had a previous game by the same name released! Can you explain that then? ;)

yeah even after huge contrast in the ratio of userbase..i wonder why it wasn't doing even much worser...isn't it?

the previous game sucked and this was viewed as mediocre...

@Gameanalyser- it had me confused, but i think what montana rings true basically.

.03 million? I think over time the 360 version will surpass it in sales given It's a shooter.

But I'm really surprised the sales are so close.

It's just that simple.

PS3 owners are punishing Activision by not buying Prototype, so there flocking to Ubisoft and buying CoJ instead.

I thought about it....even downloaded the demo to give it a go...but I keep long-eyeing for this:

so I rented it from Gamefly instead.  I think you'd haveto look at how it's doing on the rental charts as well, when trying to get the full picture.

30000 copies is a lot given the 360 userbase is skewed more towards shooters and its size, compared to the ps3!

2k a week outselling the PS3 version here and there (if it happens) isn't that much to ask for. Especially if places like Target in the US clearance it out and what not.

Working at a major retailer I can definitely say (at least in the US) that there were more copies of the 360 version shipped, so in the long run it will outsell the PS3 version.

I'll put my VGChartz $ on that but you gota give me a year because that's about what it will take to beat the PS3 version. We'll see by next Sept.
