Forums - Gaming - Call of Juarez Sales

The ps3 version of this game has sold 270000 copies, yet the 360 has sold less at 240000.

I cant understand why the ps3 version is outselling the 360 version to be honest. The 360 had a previous game in the series (call of juarez) and so i thought it would sell more as the fanbase knows the brand better.  This is at least (partly) the reason why call of duty sells better in the 360 than ps3 relatively, as the 360 has had cod2,3,4 and waw compared to ps3's 3,4 and waw.

Any reasons why this game is selling differently on the ps3 and 360?

(Yes I realise this is in the wrong topic!)

The PS3 version is doing slightly worse in the America's but doing noticeably better in others like most games do compared to 360...

most games do better on the ps3 in others compared to 360 yes. But the ps3 version is only doing SLIGHTLY worse in america, where the ps3 is outnumbered almost 2 to 1 to xboxes and had a previous game by the same name released! Can you explain that then? ;)

The 360 version will pass it, just like with Resident Evil 5.

its a strange 1 for sure but dif aint that much, i predict mass effect 2 will sell a million on ps3 easily

...not much time to post anymore, used to be awesome on here really good fond memories from VGchartz...

PSN: Skeeuk - XBL: SkeeUK - PC: Skeeuk

really miss the VGCHARTZ of 2008 - 2013...

I think AJ was being sarcastic.

People in the Americas are often more review conscious. The online shooter community is huge, but they often won't flock to a game with reviews like the ones that Call of Juarez got (and even with the sequel's improvements, most people who bought the previous game feel burned). As such, this game sells better in PAL, Sony's strong territory. And since the 360 online community is bigger, Sony has another advantage in PAL, allowing the game to sell better on the PS3.

Hopefully I summed that up well.

Yeah, and what do you think Call of Juarez is? Not a shooter?
