not worth it imo. it only has improved community features over psn. mainly becase of party system . all other extra content is better on psn . like home, vidzone, browser( typing this on psn right now) and the soon to be released tv catch-up channels like iplayer. this is all free at no extra cost . plus its proven that dedicated servers give more solid online game connection over p2p. gold is good but to be honest if u hav 360 and want to play a game online even if u play weekends only unfortunately u have 2 pay........can i also add that demos for online games are also free 2 try on psn , on 360 u have 2 pay to even try a demo that has online component

It's a forced purchase. More and more, MS makes gold mandatory. Unless you get it, you won't have multiplayer, demos on time, ability to use Netfix, and the new facebook/twitter features.

Besides, if you think its worth it, meaning the 360 will have better online than the PS3, then you should add the cost of the membership to the base price of the 360. After just 2-3 years, a 360 Arcade will cost more than a PS3 slim.

actually PSN never been down for more than couple ours and if its  down its only for mainteniance.

everything you mentioned its available on PSN also demos if you suscribe to Qore.

I really don't see where it's worth it considering that the same thing is available for free on every other platform.

Most online gamers don't give a flying crap about all of the other features, they just want easily accessible online gameplay, which they can get elsewhere for free. The yearly fee IMO is just a large hidden cost.

I have a silver account and i am content with doing multiplayer on my PS3. I dont do multiplayer much just on occasion.

To me XBL and PSN are the same. I experienced the samething with both. Paying for XBL isn't worth it and it's a scam to me.

only reason i can consider pay to play (if at all) would be for huge MMO games World of Warcraft Everquest etc, To pay for live is just stupid. I rather play on the PC if i want to play online, its almost always free, and is far superior then playing on the Xbox.
I think they should remove the gold requirement for online play and keep it for stuff like extra content movies or whatever.

That's rich you calling someone else condescending, rude and saying they have a bad attitude.
So one person doesn't miss gold. Well then proof the trolls are right. Not surprised you believe one person who paid for the service and decided it wasn't for him with the others who don't even own the console who like you only want to see the bad things in the 360 over the people who actually own a 360 and pay for the service and are quite happy to do so.

Bet you those people don't mind paying for qore. Then paying for demos is ok.
People shouldn't comment on things they know little to nothing about.
