The requirements won't be as big as crysis.
I'm pretty sure my 2 year old pc could play diablo 3 if it was to come.

I'm pretty sure my 2 year old pc could play diablo 3 if it was to come.
I don't think my 4 year old pc will run diablo 2 to my satisfaction, and yet it greatly exceeds crysis optimal reqs.
@sugar
Why would you need to buy a 4GB RAM card? Do you only have 2 slots or something?
This just goes to show how little I do know about the pc world. When I started building pcs 7-8 years ago, 4 slots was like a must have for me. Why isn't that standard now? Sheesh...
I do kinda agree now though, that the vid card would probably have to be 9.0c, since so many people still use xp.

| theprof00 said: I don't look up system reqs much so you'll have to excuse me using improper wording. All I know is what I feel will run, based on my experience with my own hardware and game playability, of course, I'm not professional like some of you, so you'll have to excuse me when I think there should be more RAM. To me, RAM solves almost all problems. So, here is the original corrected for the lingo:
I might add that recommended will probably be far lower, but then again, I wouldn't recommend "recommended" reqs either. I have Optimal specs for Empire Total War and lots of other games and the shit crawls. Waiting like 30-45 seconds to load a battle is lame. I'll mention that I have a rig with 4GB, a core 2 duo, a 256 9800 ATI and RAID for my games. Maybe I'm just a snob when it comes to performance? |
Lol... Your predicitions are still out of the league... WAY out of the league.
This is blizzard buddy, if you known by now, they don't make their players buy high end PC's to play it, I can assure you not many people have the specs that you came up with.
That's like crysis, have you seen Diablo 3? I can ASSURE you, that you won't need 4GB-8GB ram, let alone 3.
Recommended 2, minimum 1.
Just watch, you will most likely need a 128MB card, not a 512 buddy.
Your shooting way to high, WAYYYYY to high.
Oh! Edit.. And I QUOTE Jay Wilson, lead designer of Diablo 3, these are his words.
Jay Wilson: Currently we have no plans for specific DirectX 10 support. Right now are running a DirectX 9, and we run on a pretty broad range of systems, really fast. Overall, across-the-board Blizzard's goal is that all of our games support a broad range of systems. We don't jump up the system specs in any grand way. We have no intentions of being a high-end game, and certainly no intentions of being an exclusive DirectX 10 game at this time...We don't exactly know what the system specs are yet, but we'll try to keep them pretty low. We make a lot of decisions about what we do and do not put into our graphics, in order to keep the game running fast. One of the reasons why we talk a lot about art style, and how we focus a lot on art style, stylization of art over... when we do that it allows us to have a good looking game about falling back on technology, our technology does not have to carry us when we have such great art in the game.

Even he says they are trying to keep it low, you don't know Blizzard too well do ya? Your specs are ridiculous.
| OPTIMUSAXIMUS said: Anyone have any idea what they will be? |
1. The game is not going to be coming out until 2011, so nothing is set in stone. The entire specifications, even if announced next month, could change.
2. Blizzard has stated that they are trying to make Diablo III be accessable to as many players as possible and make the requirements for the game be low. While no specifics were given, this probably means you won't have to go out and get a whole new graphics card and new ram like you did for a game such as Company of Heroes or even WoW when they came out if you have a pretty good computer now.
@smashed, i did change optimal to maximum.
even for optimal, I dunno because vista eats a lot of RAM

| theprof00 said: how is that a joke starcraft? because blizzard is known to release software that runs on most computers? Let me remind you that the recommended reqs I said are about 3 years old now, and on release may be 4-5 years old. all that stuff can be upgraded to within a hundred-two hundred dollars now. |
Nah he is serious...how can you think the game is going to require 140GB to install, are you insane?
Had to change my sig to get some moderator to quit bitching about it......
I checked Starcraft 2's official website, and little to my surprise there are no system requirements listed. Are you seriously trying to defend your bad numbers by using rumors if what Blizzard might be possibly doing? Really? The game will run on a toaster oven. This is their standard of operation. I'd expect their
lets hope so gnizmo.
wow runs on everything too but to run it the best you need a god computer
