Both won awards but I am pretty sure MGS4 not only won more, but it won on majority of the bigger and more respectable gaming sites.

Gears of war is one of the most overrated games when it comes to graphics, based on what ive played through and my opinion ofcourse.

MGS4 on the other hand (funny how we have comments coming rom people that havent played MGS4) has horrible environments, and jaw dropping cutscenes (in engine though), so.. until we get to ACT 4 and ACT 5, gears despite imo not looking impressive graphicly speaking may just be as good as MGS4 is during its first 2-3 acts visually speaking (thats taking the cutscenes out of the game), once we look at the later acts you can make a point in saying MGS4 starts to seperate itself from gears of war 2 in the visual department, in environments and what not.

I completely agree about ACT 4 and ACT 5 looking out of this world. I was really impressed by the boat in ACT 5 (Outer Heaven if I recall correctly?)...

But at the same time, Gears of War 2 almost never drops in framerate, so I gotta go with Gears 2. Plus, the textures are better overall.

Why is Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 getting so much hate? We finally get a real game and they're not even satisfied... I'm starting to hate the gaming community so f****** much...

                             .. Best shooting game of E3 2008 from IGN
                             ..Game Critics Awards gave it best shooter from E3 2008

That being said my game goes to the technical marvel by a gigantic landslide, MGS4. Gears 2 had serious screen tearing, texture pop in, low res textures, small models, low res models and some poor lighting effects. While it did look fantastic for a game on a multi-plat engine, Batman: Arkham Asylum looks eons better than gears 2 did.

What a shock this thread is. Don't you know when you put PS3 vs. 360 about anything on this site, the PS3 always wins? You could've said Gears 2 vs. Disgaea 3 and you'd have people arguing that they like the art style better, which has nothing to do with graphics I might add.
