Forums - Sales - MH3 Controller Bundles - readily available in bargain bins

I was in my local Bic Camera in Yokohama yesterday and thought I would check out the bargain bins to see if there was anything to take my fancy.  Didn't really come as a surprise, but Monster Hunter 3 controller bundles were in there, and there were plenty of them available for anyone that wanted them.

Bit difficult to see the price from my crud camera phone, but they were 5980 Yen.

So not only are the bundles in plentiful supply, but they are also discounted in bargain bins.

6000 yen isn't even that low....that's hardly what you'd call "bargain bin," 3000 yen for the standalone yeah, but not 6000 yen for he bundle.

currently playing: Skyward Sword, Mario Sunshine, Xenoblade Chronicles X

It's cheaper than Amazon.  And regardless, the point is that they are in abundant supply.  I've seen many people here claiming that MH3's sales are due to the controller bundles being in high demand and low supply.  That's simply not the case.

Edit - and it most certainly was a bargain bin.  They had Metroid Prime Wii in there for 980 Yen...  On the HD front they had 360 and PS3 versions of KOF XII for less than 4000 Yen (damn, I should have waited), and they also had a Gears of War 2 special looking edition (??  dunno, didn't pay much attention but it wasn't a standard case) in there too.  Plus some other DS stuff.

well, even if the controller is in ready supply, I'm sure Capcom must be happy with the sales. 800k units in 4 weeks is pretty dang impressive. It is already the 10th best selling game in Japan on the Wii, and has done better than any PS3 or X360 game in Japan.

If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy

Good sales = yes. 2 million = no.

Except nobody expected 2 mil, so why do you make up outrageous expectations to make it seem like it sold badly?

Some people still can't get over it.

Capcom did...

Damn, even if a Wii game outsells every other game on PS3 or xbox 360, it is still a flop.
