The Elite is a 360 with a price cut.

The Slim is a new model of PS3 with a price cut.

That should tell you why the Slim will easily outsell the Elite for the first few days and maybe weeks.

Brand spankin new PS3 model with lower price beats old Xbox360 model with lower price.

There nothing new about the Elite, with the PS3 Slim.. well it's Slim.

Something new, most of the time, will boost over something old..

I wouldn't consider Amazon a good source but did anyone expect anything else? The pro model was already cheap and nobody was waiting for a 360 Light model so nobody was waiting with purchasing a 360. But the PS3 has always been expensive so ofcourse a big price drop is going to shoot sales through the roof, the Slim model adds to it aswell. With a good source this would have been a good confirmation of what we all expected but right now this topic is unnessesary. P.S. I doubt all the different 360 models combined would come even close to the PS3's numbers right now. Wait till the dust has settled in March 2010 to see how the PS3 Slim will really do vs the 360 and Wii.

Sales rankings without hard numbers to back them up mean less than nothing, especially with the number of different 360 bundles on Amazon as thx1139 pointed out.
