Forums - Nintendo - DanceDanceRevolution: Hottest Party for Wii Questions

Has anyone purchased this game yet and if so, do you think it is safe to play it on a hard surface?    My significant other wants DDR Hottest Party for Xmas, but I am concerned that the pad may slip all over the place on her hardwood floors.  With her appendix and broken toe, I have already taken her to the hospital twice this year.

Also, I have only played one of these games once, so I don't know much about it.   How does this game compare to previous incarnations?

Sorry if this has been spelled out in another thread.  I unsuccessfully searched around before creating this thread.

Thanks

Welcome to the forums, Bark. Why don't you try pinning down it with something? a PS3 for example (J/K don't bash)...

I thought about getting an area rug for it, but I am hoping the pad has something on the bottom to prevent/reduce slipping.

Thanks for the welcome.

The mat doesn't seem like it would slip unless anymore on a solid surface any more than on a carpet. That being said there are a couple things that bothers me about this game. First of all I can't figure a way to stop midway through a song. There is no way to pause or exit other than resetting the machine as far as I can figure. Also, the controls go crazy sometimes, so much so that you can't select anything. The only way to fix it is to reset. Also, the interface for this game is just bad. I don't know if the developers are lazy or sloppy, but this game could be a lot better with some minor changes and fixes.

You alleviated my original concern, but created new ones.  I can't believe that there is no way to exit the game.  I can kind of understand the pause thing because you could use that to cheat for a better score, but there is no reason in the world why you can't exit the game.

I thought all DDR games didn't let you pause until the song is over.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.
