Forums - Microsoft - Amazon 360 Deals Questions

So Amazon has the new prices for XBox 360s along with deals for each one.

Elite - http://www.amazon.com/Xbox-360-Elite/dp/B002KJ9XDE/ref=sr_1_11?ie=UTF8&s=videogames&qid=1251464680&sr=8-11 - comes with a free year of xbox live gold

Pro - http://www.amazon.com/Xbox-360-Pro-60GB-Console/dp/B001BZ3PY6/ref=br_lf_m_1000420621_1_1_img?ie=UTF8&m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&s=videogames&pf_rd_p=489499411&pf_rd_s=center-6&pf_rd_t=1401&pf_rd_i=1000420621&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=1G0Q1BFPYNBSTJB0EHYR - Comes with a free copy of halo 3, fable 2 or halo wars

I plan on getting the Elite since I'm not really a fan of halo and I hear fable 2 sucks. However, what I wanted to know is... do you guys know if this model has the jasper chip? Unfortunately, they don't show the back of the box on this one so I can't see to verify, but it is the new white packaging (i think?).

I might try emailing amazon too but figured it was worth asking.

I would go with the Elite as well.

Halo 3 is a staple in my opinion. Going online while playing split screen with friends is just the best.

Fable 2 is actually a great game. It just drives me nuts that the game loads so much and I prefer a more open world such as Oblivion.

 fable 2 sucks

What?

Beats me. I've never played it. I just saw a lot of people heavily criticizing it in another thread.

Is there much difference between the Elite and Pro? It sounds like the only difference is hard drive space and I don't really know what I'd do beyond 60 gigs.

Live Arcade games vary from 40MB to about a 1GB which is rare. Demos are typically 600MB - 1GB. A game disc is about 6GB so you can copy several of those.

I have a 20GB which I hate because I would like to copy more than 1 game discs without deleting other stuff. 60GB would be plenty of space.

I don't know why you think Fable II sucks, the consensus is quite the opposite.

themanwithnoname's law: As an America's sales or NPD thread grows longer, the probabilty of the comment "America = World" [sarcasticly] being made approaches 1.

If you are not going to play halo 3, fable 2 or halo wars, then go with Elite. 120G means you can install a lot of Games, Arcades and Demos if you wish so.

yeah just go with the elite if your a fan of halo or fable 2,

I think you might be reading it wrong. Pro comes with no games for $249.99. Elite has 2 bundle options, one with Halo 3/Fable II, and one with Lego Indiana Jones/Kung Fu Panda for $299.99 (also have an option with no games at same price for some reason).

No rooo,
You missed the specials. Until September 1st, there are two new "Fall Options."

You can either get the 360 Pro 60GB for 250 with one of those three games, or the 360 Elite with live for a year.

They are new deals that were started today
