Why does the article single out America? Seems like Dutch are gloating...

"haha...we beat America! in something"

We beat America in many ways.

Anyway wouldn't it be logical to include the most powerfull country in the world.

But China isn't in this article..

1) South Korea 20.4 Mb/s

2) Japan 15.8 Mb/s

3) Sweden 12.8 Mb/s

4) The Netherlands (Holland) 11 Mb/s

The US lags behind at the 28th spot with 5.1 Mb/s (an annual increase of 0.9 Mb/s).

And in the UK it's something stupid like 2MB/s. All of our ISP's offer speeds from 8MB/s - 20MB/s but like 85% of us are still stuck on fucking copper wire and don't have fibre optics installed in our street so we can't get faster than 2MB/s.

BTW Sweden has a lower population density than the united states.

Also for example people living in Alaska are very few, so they also contibute very little to the overall average.

It was a study done by US researchers.

Also it does not talk about America, but the United States of America instead. In the rest of America I think the average internet speed is much lower.

I dont think so. Mexico brings it down but Canada picks it up... so I think it should even out at the end. We North Americans are happy to be at 5.1 Mbs

Brazil, Argentine, Suriname, etc, probably bring down the average more.

There are many different measures of power, China is powerful, it for example owns about 740 billion USD of US's treasury securities.

If you measure by amount of obese people the US is second to none.
