(because of multi platform games they will be "ALMOST" equal)

(Sony starts to get exclusives from its own studios and from some Japaneses third parties because of their huge presence in Japan and Europe) (Xbox360 got only exclusives from some third parties but start losing others and not gaining any Japanese developers or having good presence in Japan)

After 2 years (roughly), the 360 has sold just over 12 million units. I expect the holiday to push it to 15-16 mil, and then a price drop into the $200-300 range will boost the momentum.

The Wii should be close to 13 mil by November, and about 17 by the end of the holiday season. Given increased production and the strong 2008 lineup, it is inconceivable that it will sell less than 10 million in 2008, and quite likely more, especially if it's $199 or less next holiday. Odds are good it'll at least match it's 2007 performance. After that, I can see it start to slow down  - price cuts will have smaller impacts, and the tech limits should start becoming more obvious to more people. But by then it may well be too late to change the final outcome, and if there is a flood of strong 3P support, and the MP gets tweaked...

With the PS3, Sony can't win for losing. It's new IPs aren't catching fire, and all attempts to "fix" the price problem with new and "improved" models seems to bring as much bad news as good. Will be at 5 million by the start of the holiday. It's 2006 holiday sales were limited by region and availability. Neither will be an issue, but I'm not sure I see it pushing more than another 3 mil this holiday. So put me down for 8. In 2008, better software will help, and further price drops should have a dispropotionate affect than earlier ones (a drop from $400 to $300 helps far more people than $500 to $400). This of course assumes that the new BCless model doesn't blow up in their faces (which I doubt it will).

 So, my general precictions would be....

Oh my gosh Leo, some games on the PS3 are slightly more real looking than 360 games, PS3 will win this gen hands down for definate because of that.

Seriously though leo, i still think the PS3 is more likely to come second over 360 coming second, and probably by quite a bit if it passes it when i suspect (mid-late 2009) and i still think, with a very very very best case PS3 scenario, and a very very worst Wii scenario that it could manage 1st place this gen, but the chances are not only leaning against that possibility but are almost flat on the ground. (yes thet made sense )
