I didn't know that the price-raise had been confirmed for anywhere other than the UK?

So this thread is basically saying the PS3 version won't sell because:

1) Activision's comment threating to stop developing for PS3.
2) Competition from other games on the PS3 (M.A.G.) at a lower price point

For the first reason, I'd say that hardly matters at all. Few have heard the comments Activision made, and fewer will actually let it prevent them from buying the game. Hell, I bet most people playing CoD don't even know that the game is from Activision.

As for #2, well, doesn't the 360 always have a more competitive shooter lineup than the PS3 does?

From what I've played of MAG, it will. The Beta rigth now is playing really really good. If you love the original Socoms (1,2, and 3) you'll love MAG. I fell in love with CoD4, The multiplayer was the best thing I've played in a long time. In fact I loved it so much I bought it on the 360 and PS3. MAG right now is a learning curve because you can't run around CoD4 style and get 20 kills. If you do you get killed 20 times I know cause I went 3 and 16 my first game. There is no perks, just you, your guns, and 63 other team mates. ( Right now its 64 on 64 with little to no lag) MAG multiplayer is no joke. It is the most addicting multiplayer game I've played since CoD4.

most playstation owners don't spend all day on the internet and never heard of the activision threat. However, the price will most certainly stem some of the initial enthusiasm for the game (in the affected countries), but the price will go down and people will keep buying it.

I'd think 99% of PS3 owners are completely oblivious about Activisions earlier comments. That's not gonna make any real difference, MW 2 will be a monster.

lol at the idea MAG cutting into MW2 sales. Look on the Xbox360, Halo ODST / Modern Warfare2 is quite a battle and according to VGC both have an insane amount of preorders. MAG isn't even listed in the top40 when it comes to preorders.

And I also doubt that this had any affect on the sales (this statement, not the price). Normal people do not read forums.

would of got MW2 if acti weren't screwing with the price. its not worth the extra cost so i'll stick with killzone 2 and eventually get MAG instead.

i am not buying it now,
i am not going to let that greedy american company get its way.
