Activision shot themselves in the foot on PS3 MW2 Sales.

lol at the idea MAG cutting into MW2 sales. Look on the Xbox360, Halo ODST / Modern Warfare2 is quite a battle and according to VGC both have an insane amount of preorders. MAG isn't even listed in the top40 when it comes to preorders.

And I also doubt that this had any affect on the sales (this statement, not the price). Normal people do not read forums.
