Didn't tanning booths recently become number #1 for causing skin cancer?
If you're looking for melanoma I would highly suggest going to a tanning salon.

Well, Jerry, the IARC labeled tanning beds as "carcinogenic to humans." It shares this label with radon gas, plutonium, and radium. Tannings beds are unnecessary. I would only contemplate using a tanning bed if my doctor recommended it. I know tanning beds have been prescribed as a treatment for eczema and psoriasis.
I may be biased, because I don't like tans and never saw a point in it... Beside getting skin cancer and age your skin faster BUT I think, like the other people on this thread, you should spend your money on something else, you know? Something more important.
Tanning at a salon is seriously bad for you.. It is much more of an increased risk of melanoma and other skin cancers than tanning out in the sun... besides, do you live in New Zealand or something? Its August.. you should be able to get a tan (a free tan at that!) naturally.
don't do it! naturally pale is more attractive than artificially bronzed
if you just want a wee bit of colour in your cheeks, make sure you get some sunshine every day and eat iron-rich foods
