It's a huge difference, I'm mostly looking forward to the animated backgrounds and such, it's so good looking and makes the interface look so cool and relaxing :)

Although maybe you are right, when cross voice chat comes, that's when it should been 3.0.
But according to rumors the cross voice chat were supposed to be in 3.0.. so we'll see.. if not I expect it this holiday. :)

I know what u mean. I will getmy hands on those animated themes as fast as i can, especially the killzone 2 theme. But IMO, for it to be firmware 3.0, feaues like cross game chat, direct from XMB music, and tweaked browser should have been added (personally I would love for Sony to have some contract with Mozilla and put their browser in the PS3) in order to call it 3.0.. if not, it's just 2.90. I think Sony just called it 3.0 to satisfy the hype and demand for the3.0 firmware.

The 'Whats New' section and the iPlayer look fantastic.

Just say I'm playing COD4, I quit the game. Later.I can go over to 'Whats New' and click on COD4 - I will then be directly in the COD4 online lobby.

^I'm not sure if that's how it works. I assumed it just started the game. But that'd be sweet if that was how it worked. I think they need to clarify that.
