Forums - Microsoft - MS Don't denie 54.2% failure rate is true.

@CGI who  has brand power? Who has a better value for there console? Who was the last 2 gen leading systems?

Sony did thats right,360 is putting up a fight with less well known brand strenght and a less value system.

The fail-rate of all 360's put together probably are around 54% But the fail rate of the new 360 models are way way lowere. Probably around 10%

And then there's that little thing called 3 year warrenty and such. So should you worry about it? the answer to that is no.

you do know most of people get RROD after the warrenty rans out?

And yet it still has an 8M console lead, tons of exclusive content and games (L4D and L4D2, Mass Effect, Gears, Halo - and GTAIV DLC) and still manages to outsell the PS3 without much of a lose. Sony had to change their playbook to get back into the game. Yeah, with a 54 percent fail rate, they are still trucking. So much phail, son.

The lead is attributable to their 1-year head start and low price (and both factors are related to RRoD, ironically).  PS3 is selling at a faster rate than 360 over the same period and it just got a price cut.   They're trucking, just not as fast as PS3, even though 360 is lower cost.

Who am fail now, son?

Well...I've bought 6 360s, and not ONE of them has RROD...not a since one....knock on wood. So, I guess I'm making up for those people who've had 9 and 10 all by their lonsome self...

Question: why 6 360's?

GOOD question... O_o

and the answer to the good question...since you all are so interested.

My first 360 was bought right before xmas, and I sold it before I even opened it.  I made 500 bucks off the deal, so I would have been a fool to pass it up (20GB).

I sold my first one; because I thought...no problem...I'll get a new one next week...PROBLEM...it took me 3 months to get my next one.  But get it I did, and I used it for a while, but sold it to a friend to get my launch Elite (20GB).

I got my Elite on the launch of them (That night to be exact) and this is the console I still have today (120GB).

So, that's 3 Xbox...what are the other 3...you say

Number 4 was a present for my nieces (sister's kids)...an arcade for them.  My teenage nephew just moved in with my sister, since his parents live overseas and he needs to finish off HS and to acclimated for college, so I need to get a 60HD and a XBL membership for him to online with me...

The fifth one was bought when there was a shortage in early 2008, and a friend got his 360 robbed and needed a new one, and he wasn't allowed to shop at a store that I had access to.

The final one is a present I bought for my nephews for their xmas…yes I’m a great uncle (or maybe bad, since my mom thinks I buy them too much junk…lol), but I’ve always spoiled these kids…I got them their first ipods, etc.  Why did I buy so early…well it’s an arcade, and I got a $25 gift certificate, so I bought a little early.

So, that is 6, and I'm going to replace my LAUNCH elite with a newer model to get the 65nm chipset and lower power consumption...7 is my lucky number too, so a $100 price cut is right up my alley!  I guess my original statement wasn't accurate and correct, since I don't know the status of the FIRST one I bought, since I ebayed that sucker!  Guess I can send the person a email to figure out if there system RROD if I really wanted to know...lol.

So, now you'll know the story of my life, at least, as it relates to Xbox 360.

54% is too low, I believe it is higher.

WTF has a lead gotta do with it at this point?  The Wii has blazed past the 360...based on the NINTENDO brand.  PS2 sold over 130 million consoles...and people are still buying those...why aren't they buying PS3?  Sure, a one year lead helped 360, to ensure it didn't get steamrolled like the original xbox did against the PS2, but using the price point is riddiculous.  The reason the PS3 has a higher price is because it cost more...if sony had made it cheaper, they would be able to offer it at a lower price...who's fault is THAT?  The arcade is less than the Wii and the Wii is STILL outselling it.

@Quiet Cool White Sexy Box

If you compare 360 vs PS3 on PS3 launch day, then you will see XBox 360 has been outselling the PS3,dont say ooh the price or anything like that because,1 PS brand has more strenght, 2 Better value and breaks less often.

This is a valid point. Everything electronic will die. Some are just more resiliant than others and last a bit longer.

Didn't care for you life story, no offense. It was really a simple question...

Be careful what you ask for...especially in a loaded way.

why you talking about sales? And we`ll see if the 360 can outsell PS3 slim.
