Agreed. But its doubtful that will see one. I think Microsoft might bundle the Elite with ODST if they bundle it with anything this fall. I think with the price cut they might not introduce a bundle till next year! |
that elite price cut costs them virtually the same as the old pro model. The OEM bulk price difference between a 60 GB HDD and a 120 GB HDD is likely less then $2. They made that up by cutting out the $2 it cost them for the component cable and the HDMI cable that it used to come with. There is definitely a bundle coming. If you look up previous bundles that they have offered the generally seem to prefer to do bundles with third party titles and even games that are multiplatform. When the bundles come it will unlikely have a first party or exclusive games.
Well said. At first I thought MS was losing money with the Elite, but getting rid of the component cable and hdmi cable should easily make up for the cost of the the larger hard drive. If anything they are just making less of a profit, and will make even slightly less more if they bundle it with a game.
Modern Warfare 2 would be the killer bundle. Hell Modern Warfare 1 would even be great. But I'm still guessing Halo ODST, Halo 3 or even Halo Wars bundled with it in the US by November.
It's just that simple.

Cables cost next to nothing. Getting rid of the HDMI and Component cables is literally saving MS a few bucks. Go to Monoprice.com and look at their prices for HDMI and Component cables. Keep in mind they are they are profitable at those prices.
