Sony won't even have produces/shipped enough to outsell Wii by a large enough margin in Japan to close the gap to those levels, even if Wii went back to

I think that your prediction implies 250 000 units of PS3 sold every week even if Wii would stop selling. IN JAPAN!

I would say, a ~5,50 million gap would be more likely.

The OP's predictions are such a joke, it's not even funny. Even if he is talking about Japan only, the gap won't even be remotely close to depleted by 2010.

PS3 overtaking Wii in Japan by September 2010? Really? This is the kind of prediction where you should run the numbers before declaring it to everyone. I'd say if they close the gap by 200 000 it's a huge victory for Sony in Japan. I wouldn't be surprised if the gap was bigger.

Negative Wii sales should take it down to about 3 million total in Japan by Japan 2010

OT: I think the gap will close (but Wii may increase it's lead when DQX arrives) but for PS3 to even come close to Wii I think that the slim, FFXIII etc must have godlike effects for PS3 sales, while the effect of NSMBWii, WF+ etc  will have to be NULL.
