I think people are getting off topic. The point of this thread was to talk about how Namco is trying to cover it up with the "Wii can't do it isn't powerful enough" point as an excuse. It isn't about whether the game should come to Wii or not. They didn't say anything about Controls, or Profitability. They just said "Wii can't handle tekken". So everything else is irrelevant, and I don't see why people keep posting things like "it can't do the controls" or "they thought the PSP was more profitable".

The Wii doesn't support DLC.

Tekken 6 will have DLC.

Therefore the Wii cannot support Tekken 6.

Maybe Tekken 7 if the GH5 attempt to put DLC on the SD card is successful.

That's the point of the article. The point of this thread is to cause hysteria because the person merely said the Wii can't handle DLC yet.

The Wii DOES support DLC. It is just developers don't choose to do it. If homebrew apps can be used from an SD card, DLC can also be used from an SD card. If virtual console games can be played from an SD card, so can DLC.

Homebrew doesn't mean that Nintendo or any of the developers are going to utilize it. And what I just finished saying was that Activision are experimenting with it.

@trestres, Babelfish sucks at translating articles and can't seem to get a fix on any words in it except for "downloadable content." The quote doesn't imply it because you used it out of context.

And my derailment of the thread? You mean the arguing over controllers has nothing to do with the power of the system?

It is  most definately possible though, and all they need to do is get with Nintendo like Activision is doing if this was the problem that is being discussed. Just because nobody else did DLC on Wii doesn't mean that they can't. I think they and other Publishers alike should stop playing follow the leader and actually think for themselves instead of waiting for somebody else to do it for them.

great quote no matter which side ur on :). anyways i read through the article again and it doesn't really seem like namco said the wii isn't strong enough, they just said its less than that of the other consoles and that they made a 360 version cause its very similar to the ps3.

Actually IIRC, Sega did DLC with Samba de Amigo on the Wii like, last year.

I don't want to sound rude, but have you read the thread? It has been stated many times that the game will be coming to PSP as well. The PSP is nowhere near being more powerful than the Wii hardware-wise.

Nintendo don't like DLC. Miyamoto went on record saying so just the other day. Hardly encouragement for 3rd parties. That's why an expansion pack like Wii Fit + is retail only.

the psp may be nowhere near as powerful than the wii but r u completely sure that means its hardware isn't more similar to that of the ps3 and 360 than the wii?

Yes I'm sure. The Wii in terms of architexture is more similar to the 360 and even the PS3, than the PSP is. All 3 consoles use PPC based Cpu's. The PSP does not. All 3 consoles are set up more simiarly than a Handheld would be to a Console as well. I could go on, but the Wii from an architecture standpoint is closer to the HD console than the PSP is to any console(with maybe an exception for the PS2.)

@OkeyDokey: You can't be serious right? I own Tekken 3 for PS1, you obviously didn't check anyone's game collection. Next time you will have to try harder to derail or troll. Many users disappointed me through this thread.

Besides not getting Tekken isn't what I'm pissed about, but again because you post without reading the thread or checking facts.

interesting. a source would've been nice but i guess i can take ur word on it. so if hardware isn't really the issue wouldn't that leave the tekken dudes second reason "the gameplay is very different", which would sorta make sense if he was referring to the type of games that wii owners usually purchase.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Power_pc

The Cell, Xenon, and Broadway are all there.

The PSP's MIPS(iirc) is not.

Just wanted to support my claim. I think it is just they don't see the Wii as the platform for this game. Makes perfect sense. They just don't want to say that directly for some reason, and make everybody angry by saying "the wii can't handle it".
