Forums - Microsoft - Lionhead Does Not Plan On Using Natal For Fable III

August 21, 2009 - Ever since Natal was first revealed at this past E3, fans have been wondering what future titles could be including its motion control scheme.

Fable III, recently announced at Gamescom 2009 this week, won't be one of those games. Peter Molyneux, creative director at Microsoft Games Studios, failed to discuss adding Natal support during the game's big reveal, and for good reason.

According to one Lionhead Studios developer posting on the official forums, Fable III will not be supporting Natal controls.

"We have no plans to use Natal for F3 so please stop making threads about it," the developer wrote.

During the announcement, Molyneux made mention of several 'Touch' additions to the game, which replaces the expression system found in Fable II. Players will now dynamically interact with characters instead of simply pressing a button. Looks like Natal won't be used for this new mechanic.

Well, thats that.

Phew, thank god.

Although I did sort of want to air hump my wives... but I guess I can do that anyway.

Natal won't work for any real games probably.

I wanted to talk to and rescue fair maidens. :(

Kinda relieved.

I am actually really surprised. Lionhead looked as if they were going to be THE major supporter of Natal. Also with its release window around Natals I would have thought this would have supported it fully.

Also this kind of worries me. With Microsoft's first party not even supporting Natal I see it kind of struggling

Deny, deny, deny! Until such time as they have something cool to show off in relation to Natal.

*My opinion is given.

Tease.

This doesn't make any sense. Why would you make a game with interactive touch as one of it's features; that launches around the same time as Natal but doesn't use it. From the conference it seemed Natal was implied. What are we going to do stroke people with our analog sticks. :)

"They think I'm crazy, but I know better. It is not I who am crazy, it is I who am MAD!"

"Bolshe, luchshe, I kruche"

I could have sworn the interview with Peter M. specifically said he WAS looking into using Natal on Fable 3....
