Despite yesterday’s warning from retailer Amazon that the new PS3 Slim is likely to be in short supply come its release next month, SCEE president Andrew House has claimed that his firm has ensured that the transition from the old to the new will be seamless

“I'm very pleased with how we have managed our inventory system on the existing model,” House told MCV.

“We've done that very well in the European market. There are trucks and trailers leaving right now – it's on the road.”

And of claims that stock shortages could dampen retail’s enthusiasm for the new console this Q4, House asserted: “I will make a prediction there – I don't think we will be having too many of those discussions with retail.”

So they did start making the Slim back in April when the first photos were leaked.They must have made alot by now

Well maybe they did make enough to make that 13 million shipped mark, if that is the case then maybe there wont be shortages. But even if they did hit that 13 million shipped mark, I hope there is shortages.

if thats the case then sony's gaming division is much more profitable than people assumed, besides from all these projects recently revealed, how much money did they lose by stockpiling consoles that are not for sale for 5 months?
