I find it.... weird.

They had Edge win at wrestlemania only for him to retire right afterwords?

Whatever though, Edge was pretty good.  I was always a bigger Christian fan though.

If only they had given Bret Hart this sort of respect when he left...

I wonder if that was in teh back of his mind during the match at WM lol

probelm was that Hart Jumped ship, it could have helped kill WWF had the attitude era not exploded.

I think Hart was more or less forced to walk the plank rather than jump ship......

Exactly.  Vince told Bret that he couldn't afford his contract and that he needed to go to WCW if he wanted that sort of money.  Vince also told him that he could leave as champion and then pulled the infamous "screwjob" in Bret's hometown.  I still have an issue with Vince, Shawn Michaels, and HHH because of what happened.  Bret Hart is a class act and is more forgiving than I would have been.  Anyone who hasn't should watch Bret Hart: Wrestling With Shadows, the greatest wrestling documentary ever IMO.

About Edge, I always liked him and don't begrudge him getting a nice sendoff.  He had a nice career and him retiring leaves another huge gaping hole in the WWE's lineup.  They have had all kinds of trouble getting their younger wrestlers over for the last several years and need to do something drastic.

What did Triple H have to do with it?

If you saw the movie Hitman Hart wrestling with shadows he basically lies to Harts wife to cover for his buddies by saying "I had no idea it was going to happen" when in fact he did

He also famously said "F*** him, if he won't do business then we'll do it for him." Thats what Vince was thinking as well but HHH actually said it and then they went through with it.

Fair enough, it's not like I need a reason to dislike HHH.  He's why i stopped watching wrestling a while back.

He's like hogan... but without the charisma and character.

Hogan's politicing and always being the in the title hunt was annoying... but believable because of how he was booked early too... it was actually hard to believe when he WASN'T booked on top.

HHH though... my god.

I never bought him as the unstoppable force of Hogan, or even Cena.  He just seemed like a guy who was always inserted into the title race... just because.

Triple H will probably retire soon, I think The Undertaker is finally done, Mark Henry will still be around for awhile, Christian is still popular, Kane is being misused but is still healthy, and the Big Show is fine.

Eh you gotta think Taker will go out 20-0.  Even if that 20th match is a wheelchair match.
