And I think you're being kinda silly on the Obama and socialist stance. Many do think he's a socialist and they have the right to that opinion. |
That's just about it.
When Obama got elected, his election was hailed as being something so significant, so game-changing, so amazing, that the world exuded in jubilance as a collective hurrah. People were crying, dancing, and so joyful about this half-black, half-white, Jr. senator with <2 years of senatorial experience.
Some news outlets showed reactions from people that honestly thought he was going to save them from their debt collectors by bailing them out. Personally. Sadly, a lot of people had that kind of mentality in some sort of Barak-is-next-to-Jesus-Christ syndrome.
But the fact is, we got a man. And an inexperienced man at that. I always felt like once people calmed down from the hype, they'd really see that they elected a guy that was eloquent, well-liked, but not the most experienced, or had the clout to do what he promised.
And lets not forget who got elected in with him. The fact is that in order to win a majority in Congress and Senate, the Dems had to 'sell their soul' in the way of electing more Blue Dog Dems - the antithesis of the RINO (Republican In Name Only - akin to Arlen Specter). So he may not even have the ability to give the 'Change We Can Believe In'.
As I've said, I'll reserve judgment when he makes great policy decisions, eases international tension, or does some presidential act that makes me believe he's a good president. Until he does that, he's another Jimmy Carter (who I really like from a personal standpoint).
