He didn't even actually reply to her at all.... and we missed the actual question she was referring to.

Obama is definitely one of the worst presidents we have ever had and he's only been in office a few months. I can't wait for the next election. There is no way I'm going to accept the consequences of a united health reform. Those would be either 1) the country goes another trillion in debt (like Obama really needs to put us more in debt than we already are), or 2) I have to pay 10k a year more in taxes for other people to get health care. Sure I may eventually have need for health care other than simple doctor visits, but on the other hand I likely won't. I've been on this earth 20 years and have only had one surgical procedure which was still covered by my parents insurance and was a very minor surgery. I'd rather spend 2-3k a year on my own policy, thank you.

The question was why is he supporting the policy...something thats been asked several times before and he probably has an obivous answer: He either likes the plan or supports wut the president is doing. This is a question that's not useful to the issue. She had noting important to say.She just wanted to throw her crazy to the public.

And when u break ur leg or have to have major surgery in ur future ( everyone does eventually) and wonder how you're gonna pay for it please dont come saying well if we had united healthcare.

I for one am against, but wut u said is not the right reason. Becuase if you were poor on the street against ur will because this ecomony is fucked up ur be singing a different tune. Yes, I think this thing sucks if we dont have a public option, but does that make him the worst president...no. He's actually tries to fix the mess a past president has made. So what do you want him to do : focus on fixing our economy ( and yes that includes our already fucked up healthcare system ) or continue spending money  on this war we're having with the Taliban?

Stop putting this economy on one person. Corporate greed got us in this situation, not Bush. I'm sure you would blame him if we got hit by a comet tomorrow.

people who can pay for their own healthcare with some to spare would of course rather not have it socialised but its all those who woudnt be able to get any healthcare who would want it socalised.i take it your republican?

he's probably young and misinformed...but when one of kidneys failed or if he's needs a pacemaker, we'll see how different he sounds.

And this is coming from some one who knows. My uncle had to be operated on the spine this past March and he has Medicaid. The insurance didn't cover his whole operation and his rehibliation and we have to pay 4000 bucks our of pocket. Now tell me if our healthcare system is working in its current state...

Umm...he still has much of the blame as corporate America does. Because when this recession started he just brush it off and acting like the new president should solve the problem( and please dont act like he did anything at all). When he started our economy was fine, we were fine, though our healthcare was fucked up. Now, the ecomony is in bad shape ( your not gonna tell me that the 3.5 trillion debt came from the sky right), we're still in a war that hasn't been won ( even though he declared that 7 months after the first attack), and our healthcare is still fucked...maybe more than before. And taht last comment, no...i would blame the astronomy experts that didn't warn us any sooner.

If you are referring to Bush, Bush is not responsible for our poor economy.  The large corporations are.  And Obama is not fixing anything by indepting our country more and more billions every day to offer all these tax breaks and stimulus incentives.  All he is doing is digging our country into further depression by relying on a government for aid which it cannot afford to constantly give.

Oh and if/when I do need major surgery (I have broken my leg before, but just a cast was needed), it will be covered by my much cheaper 2-3k a year health insurance policy.

@bigdom

Your uncle must be at the retirement age or very poor if he is on Medicaid.  4k is nothing compared to big surgeries that everyone would be getting for free from this point on.  4k is cheaper than the tax increase the average household income would expect a year from this new health reform.  I'm not republican.  I'm 100% independent.  Both parties are flawed.

I just fail to see how making health care free for everyone will help our economy.  What happens to all those health insurance companies and employees when they are no longer needed?  More economic downturn.

No he is not. You are aware of something called the Senate and the House, are you not? Democrats happened to be in power when the economy tanked. I'm not going to blame them for something that happened because of horrible lending policies made by banks. What policy did Bush put in place that caused this economy to tank?

So insurance companies charging us an arm and leg for a 30 pills of a drug is better? I not saying that Obama's plan is the greatest ( I actually dont like it for the fact that we might have limited public option), but we need to change the way or healthcare is running. Cuz if we have that we have a problem and we stay the same...we still have a problem.

Yes, I am aware....but it's not like he didn't know what was going on ? Are you gonna tell me that he has no invovlement whatsoever of how we are right now, considering he was PRESIDENT of the United States for 8 years? You're telling me that he didn't know that we were heading for a downfall at one point? And did he do anything about fixing the mess? If he did, he was not trying as hard as Obama is ( no matter what wrong direction he's going). It seems like at the point of start of the reccession it didn't look like he was doing anything about. Of course we both have different about the subject and it's not really the basis of this topic.

Yes, past president have been either called a Nazi or Hitler but never this loud or vocal that even media new station has to cover this mess. Esp. when it doesnt deals we the issue at hand.

A President and the government in general are not meant to have any part in controlling corporations either private or public.  That's a socialistic society.

We were in a great economic state until 2008, the last year of his Presidency.  There isn't much he could have done at that point.  There is nothing really that a government can do to bring the nation out of recession.  The only thing that worked in the past was a world war.  We have to rely on ourselves to create new products, businesses, jobs, etc.

The economy runs in cycles of rise and decline.  This is about the second or 3rd worst decline we have had, but it is still a rather normal part of the economy.

The point is, that it is false to say Bush created this problem, or that he did not try as hard as Obama to fix it. Government should be limited in how much it interferes with the economy. There are plenty of people that didn't see this coming as hard as it did. If you want to place blame on policies, blame the Democrats for pushing through very lax lending practices for mortgages over a decade ago that had a very large part to do with this downfall. By the way, the Executive brach does not make law.
