What 360 seems a bit high...

Oh no PS3 is DOMED!

I think that's what monstamack was referring to as well.

lolz, price drop did nothing!

Seriously though, Wii's back to normal and DS is a beast.

Remember this week in the future it is a wonderful gauge for consumer sentiment in North America. This is for those that think that the slim is the second coming of Christ. Keep then numbers high in your mind. The PS3 accounted for 18% of the console market this week. The PS3 accounted for 55% of what the 360 sold, and only 37% of what the Wii sold. So if you want to really dumb it down. The PS3 needs a one hundred percent sales increase to compete with 360 in North America long term, and they will need a two hundred percent increase to compete with the Wii.

Get these numbers in your mind now, and you will actually know where the race started.

I thought the Madden boost would be a tad bigger for the HD systems.. 360 up slightly week on week and PS3 down 3% so basically flat..

same time last year:

DS - 148,683
Wii - 92,858
PSP - 74,787
PS3 - 56,820
360 - 52,211

So DS, PS3, PSP are down

Wii is flat

XBOX 360 is up

I suspect the PS3 is going to do 350k on the launch of the Slim, and maybe even 200k+ if not more on the old models with the new price.

IS that for US or WW? If thats US, that some seriously hight predictions for 1 week sales outside of the holiday season. I wouldn't expect more than 100k/week due to pricecut/slim. It's still a bad economy in the US.

WW of course.

It's just that simple.

^^ Ok, thought so =) I was wondering what level of insanity you are on.

Good timing for the price cut. Need to see how the PS3 (and 360) respond with price cuts (along with the Wii). My math on VGC's numbers is that PS3 was over 40K units behind the 360. And, of course, the Wii is doing what the Wii always seems to do.
