Personally it was 50% for me. My friend's parents (back when it came out we were younger) definitely didnt buy them a toy for $600 either. Only the douchebags and assholes in school got them so they could brag how they have a $600 dollar toy. Kind of like the "I am Rich" app that came out for the iphone. Of course that was waaay at the beginning, and I mean no offense to anyone who got it day 1. Let me put it into perspective. For 300 euros I went to Mallorca. That includes travel, sleep, food, and enttainment ( boy was there a lot of that) costs for 5 days. The major costs were the travel so I could have been there for a week and a half probably with minor increases in costs. No offense, but a PS3 doesnt even come close to a trip to Mallorca. No console does, or PC.
P.S. Hell, there was a $600 stimulus package a year or two ago from the IRS or something. |
Jesus, half of the reason was the price eh?
Thanks for your add on the subject, i've heard the same thing from quite afew of my friends to, the price was always above or around the 50% range, hopfully the price drop does remedy the situation, people deserve to play beyond at a reasonable price, and for what you get with the ps3 now 300 is a deal.
As for the first part of your post i agree with that alot, kids can be so cruel even more so when they do buy really expensive crap they do it to solely show off then never use it again.
