Owing to the insane demand of PS2 yet going strong after almost 10yrs since launch, if the new PS3 Slim can have the BC included upon S/W emulation it can be a turning point for the console. This step was to be taken by Sony way long ago, But poor strategy...but still there is time to consider the plan,

Knowing the slim doesn't have BC gives me hope they will still try through emulation, if it had BC I'm not sure they would bother.
