Wow, I really did get ignored.

God damn it Bruce Campbell!!! Answer me!!!

Fine, I'll bite. On a personal level, the difference between the two is Party chat. You might think it's not a big deal, but sometimes when the entire room is full of obnoxious morons cursing, yelling and being generally offensive, and you still want to be able to talk to your three man clan, that's where the Party system comes in. Now I'm not saying this is a definitive feature all people must desire, but it makes the difference for me. It also helps when you want to talk to your friends during a match about more personal stuff you don't want the entire room listening in on.

That's where we differ. I'll use facebook for the features you are looking for.

You made him look like a fool.  That's why he ignored you.

The biggest difference between XBL and PSN is that XBL, being pay-to-play, offers greater levels of support, and more continued support. With a pay-to-play service, you can rest assured that faster, more reliable dedicated servers will ALWAYS exist so long as users are using them.

On a free service, like Steam or PSN, that's not the case. Servers aren't necessarily as high-quality, they aren't upkept as much, and they don't stay dedicated for as long. As time passes and games lose profitability, their dedicated servers are more likely to be pulled down and rededicated to something else, leaving players forced to either stop playing those games, host the games on their own servers, and/or put up with an inferior setup.

Essentially, it boils down to this - the experience is minimally impacted if you're playing up-to-date, relatively new titles. However, the further back you go, the more you'll notice issues. Thankfully, so far, the PS3 hasn't had too many popular games that've experienced that, so there are no worries, really.

Do you like to come into posts and insult people you don't have to face one on one as well?

That's not the same thing. You can't play COD: WaW online and type Facebook messages simultaneously. You can however Party chat and play COD: WaW simultaneously. It's a completely different thing. If that's the way you prefer to communicate, then that's fine, but they are not very comparable seeing as how you can't use it for any sort of in-game strategy.

XBL uses less dedicated servers, I thought?

Badge and Onyx - I'll use facebook to talk to my friends and Ps3 to play my games.
