I've played all three, and Xbox Live is superior to the competition. I am willing to pay for that.

50 a month for 3 years is 1,800 sguy... no, no it isn't. I've played all three also and I say Ps3 is the best. If I need to send a message to my friend I'll do it over facebook, I don't need in game chat. I shouldn't pay 50 dollars for a service that so many others dont charge for.

It is not pointless. I have had my 360 for 1 1/2 years and I still won't pay $50 a year for online play when both my Wii and PS3 offer it for free.

I go online and my friends and/or random strangers play with me. What does $50/year give me that makes that better?

Please, by all means go ahead.

 

It is a very important when determining cost, especially when it is the only console actually charging you for it.

Alright, do you have a cell phone? Let's say you pay $55.00 a month at the low end. That's $660.00 a year, and $1,980.00 over three years. Would you give up your cell phone? It is not a lot of money for Xbox live.
