rewind feature is just an option and it is useles if you want to have your time in leaderboards. Yamauchi stated that they started working on GT5 in early 2004. |
They released GT 4 on December 28th 2004... and since then they released Tourist Trophy, GT 5 Prolgue and they will also release Gran Turismo PSP all before GT 5 is released, so there is no way they will have worked on this for 6 years
OMG Waron you are being so one eyed!!!!
Even though all you're points have been proven wrong (mechanical damage, paint scratches) you still argue.
Also why the fuck do you care about paint scratches when since you're such a hardcore racer you'l be using cockpit view and won't see it? Pathetic.
GT5 is better in almost every way, deal with it man!
I have a question:
Will the internal (mechanical that is) logical representation of damage from collisions exist for all cars? That's more important from the racing perspective than the graphical representation of damage IMO.
Also, in the said videos we can see some pretty hard collisions that should have affected the cars handling and performance noticeably, yet I don't get the impression that it was the case. Especially when the bonnet was open the car should have had a severe speed deficit, yet it's not apparent that it has.
What do you guys think?

@ ithis - we dont know yet as nothing has been confirmed so people can only speculate. GT4 had mechanical damage to all cars though it was quite limited so i can only speculate that GT5 will do the same and hopefully better.
New vid has come up. Check this out. The subaru gets on top of the RX7 at about 1:30
@Oniichan - That video responds to a lot of questions, even if I couldn't understand everything the guy said.
1. If the door fells off, the internal view will reflect this. Cool :).
2. The AI is still pretty much on rails.
3. There is internal damage (that's why he is quite slow after the collision), but it's not very realistic. I mean, it you had an accident where both your doors were ripped off, you would be out of the race.
I still think that this is easy to correct, if they need to, but I guess there will be gradually increasing levels of damage realism as you progress. Or at least I hope.
What did he say about the trees? I didn't get that.

All i know is that the trees are looking better then in GT5P. Not sure what else they are talking about with the trees.
Remember that the demo is arcade mode and we dont know if they were playing on Pro physics or standard. I do know that you can change the physics on the demo so i guess we have to wait and see.
Aha, arcade mode. I didn't know that. I guess we will know much more in a month's time, even though more info can come out of this CamesCon yet.

Yeah more info could flow out from Gamescom. Im keeping my ears open to some members on other forums that are going there to play it today with requests from forum members and taking a video camera with him.
