^ U shud least take some of the hate not all on me =(
Nintendo could just introduce new colors and they'll be fine...
MS, who knows.

Sonys Pricecut only seems desperate because
a) they were in last place
b) they had industry heads, consumers, writers ect... basically telling them to cut the price or else.
Do you think Microsoft will announce anything today at their gamesconn conference?
nintendo will drop cuz the wii isnt moving like it used to, and seriously for 50$ more u can get something that looks 20x better, microsoft just got rid of the pro so they were already getting reay for it.
Yikes. I've never seen a console before that has a 50% price reduction in only 3 years except for maybe the Dreamcast. It'll boost sales for the short term surely, but will it help Sony for the long-term? If sales arn't boosting the system long-term. What will Sony do, do another price cut? It seems to me that the value of the system is getting closer to meeting the price.
Hmmm. I don't think this price cut will help Sony as much as you people think.
In conclusion, Nintendo won't need to do much if anything to counter the price, but I think Microsoft probably will do another price cut if they haven't already done so yet.

Will they need to?
We're only going to know that for sure 6-8 weeks after Slim comes out. If it sustains high PS3 numbers (higher than 360 and possibly on par or higher than Wii in Japan) then Microsoft and Nintendo will respond accordingly. Microsoft's response will likely be a price cut and a massive advertising push focusing on 360's new features (coming in the next update) and software.
I wouldn't rule out a NSMB Wii bundle appearing in all major regions in Q4 as part of Nintendo's strategy to create momentum for Wii. I think a Wii pricecut isn't a strong possiblity, but can't be ruled out.
Nintendo should drop the Price too $199 not because of Microsoft or Sony, but because they are the only ones not to drop the price since it launched almost 3 years ago. How many pricecuts/bundles have Sony and Microsoft done. Way too many to count. Its time for Nintendo to step it up with price cuts/Bundles and colors.

I don't think Nintendo will start to play the price cut game until next year at the earliest. I think they'll wait to see the effect PS3 Motion control and Natal for 360 have on the market.
I think that'd be a better time for Nintendo to really begin slashing the Wii price and introducing new Wii bundles, perhaps balance board or motion plus bundles. They'll add value to an already massively popular system that has familiarised a large number of people with motion control, just as their rivals are attempting to establish motion control on their own systems and compete with Nintendo in that market.
From there, I wouldn't be surprised to see Nintendo role out a new machine in 2011 or 2012, to try and sidestep the competition again.
