Can you explain what you mean? Why other people think it is ugly? or Why sony made it ugly?(in this case you won't get an answer)

I am dissapointed, If/when I eventually get one, it'll be a phat from ebay.

Slim is hot. No finger prints nuff said!

I don't think it's ugly at all

I have no idea, but that thing surely looks way cheaper than the PS2 slim.
Well, if I didn't have a PS3 I clearly would go for a "phat" one.

Personally I hope Sony already is planing some design enhancements to this version.

Ugly no... cheap look yes... that was the goal : To reduce production cost.

Evan Wells (Uncharted 2): I think the differences that you see between any two games has much more to do with the developer than whether it’s on the Xbox or PS3.

hello how are you.

Exactly ^

Its miles better than the both PS2's and the original PS3 for its simplicity in design.

Granted it looks cheap but it still looks pretty cool despite its plastic laptop appearance. Removing the shiny shit on it makes it look more like a PS2 in terms of mass appeal aswell.

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.
