In Mexico is between $5,700 and $6,500 in the majority of stores that's like 450-520 dollars.

Is there a fix RRP? (even if store discounts from that amount) or is it kinda lawless out there?

everyone knows in America that things are more expensive in Europe. but i was surprised about Australia i had no clue it was that much money for a ps3
well here in venezuela it cost. 3.500.000 millions of bs. wich is around 1.650 dollars. but with the new price cut. i dont know.
Just a note: While $629 is the official price of the Slim in NZ, nearly every retailier is debuting it for $599, and in many cases along with a game. The effect being that you get your PS3 for about $540. I don't expect anyone to ever have to pay the official $629 for the Slim by itself. Just like no one has had to pay the full $779 for the Phat for at least a year, even though retailers are putting "specials" out at $699 and saying you save $80.
Funny thing is EB Games has used 40Gig PS3s (not b/c) advertised for $589. They'll be gathering dust I imagine.

Sorry Luisgvm you're gonna have to give me a bit more info.
As far as I can find out, the Venezuelan currency is the (VEF) Boulivar Fourte (Natural denomination is the BS) which is currently trading at:
1 USD - 0.47 VEF
I do not compute what 3.500.000 millions BS stands for.
Do you mean that the the cost of a PS3 pre-pricecut is 3500 BS (VEF)?

Yup, in many cases you can get a console for well below the RRP, but there is too much variable to record in those cases (bundle, special offers etc) So I'm sticking with RRP, this is simply meant as a guide to the cost of PS3 in various region.
