How did you deal with that mentally?  I'm basically blowing my whole software budget, which is why I'm having some buyer's remorse.  Other than that, I really have no problem owning two consoles.

You may be feeling buyer's remorse right now. But that won't last long if you also buy Uncharted and Metal Gear Solid 4 for example. They're both Greatest Hits now and they'll perform the double function of tiding you over until the barrage of holiday games and introducing you to the fun one can have as a PS3 owner.
Other suggestions for games are: Valkyria Chronicles, Ratchet and Clank: Tools of Destruction, inFamous, Killzone 2, MotorStorm: Pacific Rift. Ask around and more players will tell you about other games as well.

It was very tough, I found myself breathing more deeply, and my gamerscore makes up for my sadness at missing Resistance 2 and a few others, but thankfully there are no 360 games I want this christmas

For $300 you got a lot of value. You can watch blu-ray movies, play so many amazing games. Get free PSN account to chat and socialize with your buddies.
Best of all you can place the it anywhere in your home and still go online using the Wi-Fi
And ya its got 120 gig hard drive.

Hope you enjoy it. I tried the same thing and I just couldn't go back to the dualshock controller after using the 360 controller for so long. If you don't have a problem with that, you can find some gems, Uncharted comes to mind.

I am a little worried about going back and forth between the PS3 and 360 controller.  I like the 360 one a LOT better.  I thought I had read somewhere that there is a third party peripheral that works on the PS3 but is situated like a 360 controller.  Anyone remember that?

I've waffled back and forth about my pre-order about a million times today.  One minute it seems like a good idea, and the next it doesn't.  I don't think there is a new console generation starting any time soon, so it's not that I'm worried about buying something that will be replaced next year.  I'm just worried that I will buy this thing and not play it at all.  I have a lot of love for my 360, but it just doesn't have some of the stuff that the PS3 has.
