Elite will see a pricecut to $299, Core discontinued, Arcade unchanged, maybe it will earn a HDD. Exactly what the rumors say.

They both use standard 2.5" notebook drives. They are the same price. I am betting that once they clear out all the Pro's and stuff the new price points will be Elite $249, Arcade $149 by the end of September.
tomorrow they will announce a price drop. MS wants to end Sony this gen. and we all know it.

I just feel the Xbox 360 Elite would be very competitive at $250.00.
Microsoft will probably counter at their press conference.
But, they should wait until after Halo 3: ODST.
I think price cuts now are too early... Look at when 360 cut just before Madden a couple years ago. Sony caught up and took the lead when Sony cut in November the same year. Microsoft should just sit and watch the price cut/slim marketing fizzle out a bit... Then, do something in the mid/late-October timeframe.
They have to do something, the Elite is now more expensive than the ps3.
Add xbox live+wifi+battery charger and no bluray, it's a crappy deal compared to the ps3 where you get everything right out of the box.

That's why I think it should be cheaper than the PS3.
