Because microsoft wants to be cheaper than the wii right? The wii raised prices and so they might as well too because theyd still be cheaper than the wii.

Well, thats because you and I, and microsoft knows that a slim PS3 and pricecut from Sony IS coming. They want to offer basicly the same console as sony, but cheaper.

BUt i still, however, am trying to figure out why the arcade and elite would cost so close to each other, people might as well buy the elite :D

maybe to make the elite look cheaper and attractive so when people go to buy a system they will see the arcade's raised price (probably 10-20 dollars cheaper than wii and 30-40 cheaper than elite) and then loook at the wii and say that look for only like 20 dollars more i get the wii with motion sensing and it has one free game. but then if they really want an xbox they will see the elites price and say that for only another 10 dollars i get a harddrive and an xbox (cause the kid wants an xbox)

basic point is so that elite looks attractive and cheaper

LOL I know a few people and they have the opposite opinion as you, they think the wii looks the most attractive and the black xbox looks ugly, and the white is jusy okay.

I however think like you, I do believe that your on to something but I don't think that was microsofts plan.

In my opinion, I think that they should put a hardrive on the arcade and raise the price to the wii's price, and keep the Elite just above the wii price.

Casual gamers are not going to buy the 360 instead of the wii just because it's like 30 bucks less IMO. i think that if the white 360 with a hardive was the same price of the wii then it would catch a lot of those call of duty players, and because they have a harddrive they will download map packs and stuff. As for the elite, its similar to the PS3 but cheaper so people will be happy!

actually i do think the wii looks cooler because its like tiny and atleast it doesn't have a huge power brick but in my previous post i posted from a person's persepective who wants a 360

no they raise the arcade price to be very close to the elite...might have been a typo

the rumor just says the arcade, nothing about the elite or pro. Also Nintendo raised the price of the wii, but retailers never passed it onto customers. The price of the wii stayed the same.
