@ fazz: I would recomend buying a 360 with a extra cooler... yeah it screws you MS warrenty but mine is really cool now... and if it RRoDs I´d rather pay 40€ and have it back the next day (at my local mod shop) then whait till Microsoft does something... but that might just be me, I like to take care of things myself...

I think I'll borrow a broken 360 from a friend and study it's design flaws and mod it myself. Same, screwed warranty but I'm certain it sucks anyway.

I'm sorry to hear that, I already experienced my system failing, but it was no RRoD. It was that my power brick broke. I had the Nyko Intercooler on the system trying to pull extra air out of the 360. But really it was pulling power from the 360 and the power brick. So in the coming days the power brick went. I then was still under EBGames/Gamestop 30-day defective warranty. So I exchange my Premium 360 for a Elite. And had this Elite every since. I have no lock-ups, system is cool and warm. The discs come out cool and I only play the 360 for like 3 hours max and I turn the 360 off.

But anywho..I hope they do give you a Falcon edition. And don't worry about it as long as your gaming when the 360 returns and your playing the best games currently. There shouldn't be any worries.

No I have XMC addon cooler (inside the box), which is now called the XMC core cooler, I talked to one of the tech experts at my local mod shop, they fix consoles everyday and told me that the main problem of the 360 is not the CPU, GPU cooling itself but getting the hot air out of the console, the XMC addon does just that, thats why the guys at XMC are now calling it the core cooler. My 360 isn´t loud at all (still beats my Wii but not my PC) and I don´t worry about RRoD at all, sometimes after a longer gaming session I check it and its never hotter than my PC or Laptop (longest was about 6-7h with a buddy playing GoW co-op and some other cool games:).

hum I wish I knew a shop like yours.. I'm sure they could fix my DVD drive pb for less than a new one or to send it back to MS out of warranty..... is that a national chain ??? or a small local shop that everybody likes ??

If you buy a USB powered cooler, your warranty is safe. That's what I did and I'm coming up on nearly a year with no problems whatsoever.

Could be luck, could be the cooler. Dunno, but I'm not going to question the $15 it cost me.

I have an original launch 360 that hasnt had any issues, but I have the updated Nyko intercooler on it. If it dies Im getting an Elite (and selling the refurb I get back from MS on Ebay).

Its just one shop in my city (cologne) but for a mod shop they are pretty big and they get customers for all over the country and other parts of europe...

My friend's second 360's currently in the hands of MS, I hope he gets it back >< I've been craving me some Bioshock :D Sorry for your loss dude :( at least your in an area that takes care of them easy yah?
