It is a rallying cry that immigrants help support a nations older generation.  The old people in a country get no benefit from immigration.  The older population includes a lot of wealthy people who pay the majority of taxes and immigrants contribute hardly any taxes.  A article shows that immigrants are more likely than the general population to require welfare.

Yet the number of foreigners in work stayed more or less exactly the same at about two million. Four decades ago, two-thirds of German immigrants were in the workforce. By the turn of the century, barely a quarter were.

I don't get what this post is supposed to be telling me.

Yes, it's like this all over Europe. Immigrants are an extremely heavy burden on the welfare state over here.

But of course it's all silenced by the media and politicians.

The problem is that the politicians have made a lot of promises over the years building a welfare system that has massive unfunded liabilities, and the only way to maintain these services is to have a population that is increasing at a rapid rate. Now, being that the birth rate in many countries is as low as 1.2 children per couple the population of Europe is shrinking at a rapid rate, so the only way to get this population growth is to have immigration set at a rate which is so rapid that the standards have to be set very low to make it possible.

Now, personally I would suggest having immigration at a more reasonable level where you could attract the best and the brightest who have the highest probability of becomming a well adjusted productive member of your society; and telling people that the promises made by previous politicians for cradle to grave safety nets were not something that could be delivered.

So immigrants are lazy???

The problem I have with Amnesty, is people don't hire illegal aliens because they can't find Americans to do the job, they hire them because they are cheep. You make 12 million Illegal aliens legal, and you just opened up a huge market for more people to cross the border, and put 12 million people out of work.

Eh. The only real issue i have with Illegal Immigrants is that they're here illegally.

California's budget problems seem to have to partly due with the strain of illegal immigartion on it's services.

Can't really blame em though. Why stay in a poor country when you could come to a place like California and reap all kinda of benefits.

Really you gotta target the buisnesses and stop giving incentives to illegal immigrants.

Buisnesses should face heavy fines and illegal immigrants shouldn't have access to Medcaid.

While you have to be a US citizen to get Medicaid in the US... all you have to do to prove your a citizen is say "I am a citizen."
