I don't know, I wasn't really around back then. However, it seems to me like their is a big drain on the community when big fanboys like the xbox man and infamous8 make so many troll threads. It makes it hard to be nice to everybody when people are pretty much always yelling about outlandish predictions or opinions.

Plus, there was John Lucas, posting epic threads with his epic avatar.

IMO, the mods are too strict. Let some sexy threads out! Let Soriku and I derail them! Post more about ass-licking and burning pee.

Rubang's threads happened to focus on a week or so where Off Topic was flooded with sexual threads. I think that we've had 2 weeks last that in the history of the site. It's fun for a while, but then every last idiot has to make a sexual thread, each one worse than the last.

Mabe just plain old humor? There doesn't seem to be enough humor. There aren't many users you can depend on for a laugh. It used to be Rol, but I don't see him much anymore and when I do, he doesn't seem to make that many jokes.

I seriously wonder if 90% of people just crap out threads and don't really think about what they're posting. You'd think there would be some sort of thought process before.

Is this a troll thread?

Will this piss people off?

Did I make sure that I wrote complete sentences, with decent grammar?

Am I talking about something interesting?

Has my thread been made 5 billion-million times before?

Am I giving my own opinion, and not just copy and pasting some blog?

Am I asking a question where the answer is REALLY, REALLY OBVIOUS?

Things like those. If people really put thought into their threads, there would be a lot of improvement.

I'm personally really enjoying the threads lately. There's a lot more controversy than there was before. However, I do feel like I'm missing out on some of those great epic threads.
