Kutaragi before Miyamoto

Were they smoking crack?

Atleast they weren't doing shrooms.

Like another person..

When he made super mario

OH SNAP

anyways, Kutaragi is soooo more important. It's not even up for debate. He made video games more than a kids toy.

joke list? when did Kutaragi or Hirai done something good to gaming industry? Miyamoto is moree important then all those people combined - he made gaming industry and games the way we know them now.

How is that? The problem is... it's still a kids toy. Ask your mom what she thinks about videogames, if you don't believe me.

Hmm... Real top 10, in kinda chronological order.

Ralph Baer
Nolan Bushnell
David Crane
Hiroshi Yamauchi
Gunpei Yokoi
Shigeru Miyamoto
Trip Hawkins
Will Wright
Ken Kutaragi
Satoru Iwata

11th spot... Carmack, probably.

Top RPG guy... Tajiri, not Sakaguchi! Both in the top 20 though.

Don't say it's Nintendo slanted. Reality is Nintendo slanted. The 4 Nintendo guys in the top 10 are all shoo-ins. 30 years of major trends in both console and handheld gaming go to those 4 guys, with Kutaragi the only non-Nintendo guy to be as important in console gaming, post-Atari.

Speaking of Atari, after Miyamoto, Bushnell is an EASY 2nd.

"[Our former customers] are unable to find software which they WANT to play."
"The way to solve this problem lies in how to communicate what kind of games [they CAN play]."

Satoru Iwata, Nintendo President. Only slightly paraphrased.

Uhhhhhh... Let me get this straight there is no Gunpei Yokoi but there is Peter Moore?!?

Well this list pretty much equals horse shit in my eyes.

yea bad list

Check out my hype threads: Cyberpunk, and The Witcher 3!

J.  R. R. Tolkien, Gary Gygax, and Richard Garriott  They should probably be at the very top.  There would be no fantasy, rpg, or games like Zelda without these three.

Ken Williams -- husband of Roberta Williams the woman who created King's Quest. They created the graphic adventure genre and Sierra On-Line.

Dave Halverson -- Published the two greatest US videogame magazines of all time with Diehard Gamefan and Play Magazine. He also created DieHard Gamer's Club, which began the importation of Japan only games into the US in the early nineties particularly on Genesis and SNES.

My mom plays diablo 2, sacred 2, neverwinternights 2 and she recently had a go at oblivion.

Your point is ?

Maybe it's like that some places but it certainly isn't here in denmark. Well it might be if you have a wii. But the ps3 isn't concidered a toy in any way, neither is gaming on it or it's predecessors.

Check out my game about moles ^

ummmm Kojima ?

Yeah, and my dad plays ADOM daily.

It's just a coincidence, that gaming considered as purely kids and teenagers stuff by people outside of it? I do like this quote: "It's not that the medium is in its adolescence, it's that you're a bunch of f ****ing adolescents" (Heatther Chaplin) - that's what cultural perception of gaming is, despite harsh words the point still stands. PS3 won't change this situation, none of it's predecessors did.
