Meh. It took around 40 hours for me to beat it, and then I spent another 25 on the endgame. I'm slow, I guess.

Oh I'm sure it's fine, it just has a rough start in terms of chaos in combat and likeability of the main character. 25 hours is plenty long.

Hell, Phantom Hourglass is my favorite DS game of all time, it was only about 15-20 hours.

I'll be playing more this evening, no problem.

The story and characters pretty much suck in this game. The battle system is messy, it's simply impossible to look at two screens simultaneously. So the smartest thing to do is usually to tap either right or left on the d-pad all the time, depending on which side enemies are left. The real battle is on the bottom screen anyway.

The gameplay is very shallow. There are story parts and fighting noise. There's nothing like a dungeon or a puzzle (well, there's one day with one, but even that just means fighting monsters in a certain order), the only thing in your way are stupid requirements like make brand xyz the most popular in this area to proceed, which is done by fighting monsters. It's annoying. You are much better off by playing a Dragon Quest game, they are more advanced when it comes to gameplay.

In TWEWY there's tons of stuff to do for completion because the actual game is very short and can be beat in about 15 hours or so. The problem is that pin and clothes collecting is extremely tedious and repetitive. A positive thing about the game is that it motivates you to not play it again by only offering one save file.

In summary, nearly everything about the game is bad, but I guess it got tons of praise because of its setting and music. I doubt that people who love it, played through this game more than once. Otherwise they would have realized how many parts of this game actually suck.

TWEWY is among least fun RPGs I've played this generation and easily the worst one I've played on the DS so far.
