I went to Kotaku to catch up on some news with all the hubbub about Nintendo's conference to check the feedback. There was this one story about Nintendo starting up a testimonial site on Wii called MyWiiStory.com
So I read the Kotaku story ( http://kotaku.com/gaming/wii/nintendo-launches-mywiistory-309122.php ) and check the comments. I have never heard such bitching and griping and complaining and whining in my life. Even HERE these malcontents continue to sourpuss about the Wii and their assinine expectations. I'm always dumbfounded by these cats. "What are they looking for?" I wonder to myself.
The kind of folks who endlessly complain about Halo 3's graphics and that Wii Sports isn't a "real game" and that Devil May Cry 4 is unpurchasable just because it went multiplatform.
That attitude grated on my nerves so I had to speak up and put down my 1/50 of dollar on the subject.
Shortly thereafter hate was directed to me too for daring to question this hive mentality. Hahahahaha. To hell wit' 'em. One of many reasons why I prefer VGChartz community.
First part

I've enjoyed every minute of Wii since I got it on December 6th. It was a lucky purchase that I had stumbled upon paying bills in town the day before.
I went to Wal-Mart to longingly puppy-dog whimper at the Wii window case since I missed getting one on launch day. So sad. Hahaha!
Lo and behold an ad on the glasscase told of Wiis being sold the next day at 8AM. I said WOW! I work at nights and get off in plenty of time to get up to the store to get one.
I got to the store at 6:30-ish and there was already a line! I was #12 and they only had 30 available for sale. The guy in front of me, #11, was on the cell phone with his friend who was in line for Wii in a nearby town. They were seeing who would be able to get one first and then the other could get out of line.
Well it turns out his friend picked it up in the nearby town so I became #11. After waiting a bit and watching the line slowly exceed the 30 mark as time passed by I finally got my Wii!
I bought Zelda a few days prior after missing that too at launch. First time buying any system at launch so I was very unprepared. And got home, hooked it up, turned it on and Wii Sported for about 2 weeks straight EXCLUSIVELY. I didn't start on Zelda until later that December.
I own 10 games for Wii now and want much more:
Wii Sports, Zelda: TW, DBZ: Budokai Tenkaichi 2, WarioWare: Smooth Moves, Wii Play, Excite Truck, Trauma Center, Godfather: Blackhand, Mario Strikers Charged, and Metroid Prime 3: Corruption.
Got 2 VC games and want much more:
Comic Zone from Genesis & Romance of the Three Kingdoms IV from SNES.
I love going to WiiCade.com on the Internet Channel and like playing Squares 2 for one of many examples.
I read the news channel almost everyday and participate in the Everybody Votes Channel. I totally and truly enjoy this system and love it when I see the blue light when I get an update or WiiMail.
I'm tired of all the clichéd hate from so-called Wii owners. If you don't like it, give it to ME. I could sure make somebody's Christmas this year if I get one of those. An excellent system that my family and friends enjoy.
No games on Wii? Hardly. The thing's a game ma-CHINE. Almost too many games and so much more to come.
You complainers? Give it up. And pull out a vacuum once in a while so won't have to worry about all that "dust".
Let's get some positive stories here instead of all this griping. The "hardcore" frankly have become a "hard bore".

Second part (in reply to a sensible poster)

When something is popular, SpacePenguinBot, it becomes the fashion to hate on it in some absurd call to "balance".
There's nothing wrong with the Wii at all. These guys are just narrow-minded and curmudgeonly. Gaming has to be only a certain way for them to enjoy it.
I've been playing videogames since 1980 when I was 4 years old. I played all types of games from cartoony to realistically styled. From family friendly to violent and sex-filled. All kinds of genres and all kinds of systems. Easy simple games to hard complex games that demand the greatest of skill.
By that definition you might label me as "hardcore". But I reject those useless labels like that and "casual". I'm a gameplayer. I'm a videogame player. Just like those who play only Madden are videogame players, just like those who play only RPG's are videogame players, just like those who play moody realistic-styled games are videogame players, just like those who buy movie cash-ins are videogame players, just like those who play puzzlers are videogame players, just like those who play quirky titles are videogame players. From Nintendogs to Doom to GTAIV to Wii Fit to Halo 3 to Singstar...all of 'em are gameplayers and there is no real division.
All the varied stuff I've played over the years just like these guys are who insist on complaining about nothing important. But I'm not like them. I accept progress and new things. The Wii in my opinion, I would say fact even, is the best thing to happen to this industry. And the wheat will be separated from the chaff as the gripers soon find themselves outnumbered by people who know what this pastime is REALLY and has ALWAYS really been all about.
Having fun.
