While I think that crowd is a bit overmuch, denying that there have been a dirth of great non-VC games in the first year of the Wii's existence is a bit silly. It's been enough for me, as I haven't had a lot of time to play games, and since I don't play sports games, it's not worse than the PS3 or the 360's first year.
Nonetheless, what with Nintendo's real heavy hitters not coming out until recently/the near future, and 3rd parties just starting to show their worth on the system, I can see where impatient hardcore gamers could be disastifisied with the system, thusfar.
