I think it's a combination of it being a handheld Zelda, the very strong DS holiday lineup and the lack of information from Nintendo themselves.
I'm looking forward to it, it'll be interesting to see where the mythology established by Wind Waker/Phantom Hourglass goes next, and of course for the dungeons and puzzles and whatnot. As far as interface and controls go, I think Nintendo almost perfected it at the first attempt with Phantom Hourglass.
I wouldn't want there to be another Temple of the Ocean King, though. It was a nice feature, but not something I'd want to see as standard in the next few Zelda games.
