I dont think so, The wii is doomed as is it has been a dead project since day one. It was dead on arrival and still is and no price cut can change that or make it worse.

this. how ca you say the wii was dead and is dead???? I used to regret buying a wii but with all these great games and especially coming ones and with increasing third party support i don't think so

I was merely posting from the haters pov, to me the Wii is the best thing that happened to gaming. I´ve been waiting since the mid 90´s for the Nintendo Revolution to hit us.

TC, I think Sony knows what you're saying but it's a bit too late for that now. Sony wanted to hit two flies at ones, sell their Blu-Ray medium and conquer the market with their advanced console. Maybe in 10 years we can say they made a good move as Blu-Ray is still the standard and the PS4 is an alltime favorite but right now the console market is lost to them. All they can do is stay somewhat competitive by doing what they are doing, make Microsoft look bad and stay proud. You don't really expect them to admit failure and defeat, right? The PS3 is an expensive beast and if Sony wants to put one in each household then they can but they would stay in the red figures for a long time. A lower price will happen but it can't (and won't) be low enough to defeat the 360 and especially the Wii. With any luck the PS3 can become the 360's equal but their best bet is to keep out of the red numbers, be happy with their current marketshare and prepare to fight to good fight with the PS4.

Don't call me a fanboy, I own all three consoles and bought them according to price, Wii, 360 then PS3.

 

I'm so tired of them pushing blu ray.We get it already the ps3 can play blu ray and no other console can.

Why don't they ever mention the fact that the PS3 is much better at playing videos  than the 360 ? Ps3 supports AVCHD and VOB/MPEG-2, two

formats commonly used by camcorders. They also never seem to mention the fact that , unlike the competiton, the PS3 can store  multimedia files.

M$ only lets you store purchased multimedia and the Nintendo expects you convert all your MP3's to AAC, have 500 or less Jpegs and have lots of

MJPEG videos.
