Wonder why they left Jak and daxter and Crash bandicoot..

I think dropping Crash Bandicoot was an epic fail on their part. Same with Insomniac dropping Spyro. Jak & Daxter are being made for the PSP right now but I still have hope that they'll go to the PS3 soon. They know what happen to their franchises when they sell them off now at least and I think that's enough motivation to keep the IP's within Naughty Dog (for console gaming at least).

How is it an epic fail? They dropped Crash because they didn't think they could do much more with the series, and they didn't want to work on the same series for the rest of their lives *cough*Kojima*cough*. Naughty Dog isn't in the industry just for the money.

Another reason why I praise them so heavily, they are not all about the $.

Agreed. Naughty Dog are probably my favorite developers of all time. The reason is because their games are made with LOVE! :D

Also why did Sony sell away Crash Bandicoot? It would be great to see ND make another Crash game.

Read the above posts, they wanted to expand their horizons. They're not all about milking the same franchise over and over....

I thought it was a buisness problem and they had to sell away Crash, otherwise I'm sure they would still be making Crash games.

Every sale is well deserved. Naughty Dog are some of the best developers in the industry (I know I'll be bashed for that statement, but whatever).

yeah, when u certainly can't be...

damn good

"They will know heghan belongs to the helghast"

"England expects that everyman will do his duty"

"we shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender"

All I can say it that Sony better be marketing the shit out of Uncharted 2.

Naughty Dog/Sony never owned Crash, Universal did. ND had a three games contract with Universal, once that was over they didn't have anything to do with Crash anymore. Because Crash became so popular Universal allowed them to make one final game as a farewell to their fans. Naughty Dog didn't want to work more on Crash, and the price for the IP was probably absurd anyway. Sony might not have wanted to pay the price for it, but my personal theory is that Universal didn't want to sell it. Probably because they thought they'd make much more money keeping it, which they probably would, if they kept the quality up.

Jak,Crash, Uncharted..With these 40m?
And I have loved every single of those games (well expect Jak 2)

Take my love, take my land..

I wasn't referring to money. I was referring to what happened to the series afterward. I have a feeling if Naughty Dog maintained control over Crash, we wouldn't be dealing with Crash of the Titans and Mind Over Mutant. I think Naughty Dog are amazing still. It's just upsetting to see something that was so great in my childhood turn into what it has turned into.

If Sony had bought the IP ND probably wouldn't work on the games. How do you know that Sony's milking would've been better than what's happening to it now? You're trying to get your point across by using some of the better (non-ND) Crash's? If you want to talk bad ones you should've said Wrath of Cortex and Twinsanity instead. And with the horrible artstyle in the newer games I wouldn't consider them a part of the franchise, since they have no similarities. =)
