How can you say Sony is destined to last place when they are outpacing X360 YoY by a clear margin?

The gap has only increased by 400,000 or so in 2009 despite PS3 being $399 and X360 even as los was $179 in some places of the world.

I say, MS is simply chanceless. X360 is the one destined to last place, sadly.

You need to chat with Squill, he'll explain it to you. Sales are different in the year to the holidays.

I'd love to take a bet with him. I think he believes X360 will outsell PS3 this Holiday season, but he seems so unsure that he didn't even specify it with any numbers in his "the x360 will prevail" thread.

(speaking of Holidays, I hope you do remember that PS3 won over X360 in 2007) There's not enough gift givers and soccer moms to save the X360 by buying cheap Arcades this Holiday season.

Are you sure? The way I see it the people that where gonna buy the pro will now just buy the elite... people whod buy the arcade will buy the arcade... and the people not going to buy anything wont jump in because a model was discontinued for the higher end to take its place.

^and why in hell would anyone prefer a X360 Elite over a sexy slim blu-ray PS3 at $299.99 both? games? yeah I've heard that story before, and it won't work this time. Not with the same high-profile 3rd party games being multiplat specially COD MW2 this holiday, and on the first-party side, Uncharted 2. Oh, and play multiplayer online on those games out of the box for FREE.

Why do you think that is? Maybe.... because Sony basically ignored them up untill early this year. Seriously if they focused on Japan a little more rather than assuming they will just follow them then the 360 and PS3 would be much closer... like I said its always been the key for sony but they ignored it.

I'm going to say this right now.

Anyone who wants a PS3 has already bought one.
Anyone who wants a 360 has already bought one.
Anyone who wants a Wii has about six including one for a pillow.

The remaining sales are going to be towards the casual or non gamer market. Sony releasing a "slimmed down" version of its system is not going to do jack when,
